This episode tells the story-behind-the story regarding the making of the movie that many critics claim is the greatest movie ever made, including the fact that the movie was filmed while WWII was raging and that many of the people involved in the making of the movie had escaped from Nazi-dominated Europe and had yet to loose family members in German concentration camps. 1:07.9	your life. It was produced by Hal Wallace and directed by Michael Curtese for
1:12.6	Warner Brothers and released in 1942 earning eight Academy Award
1:17.4	nominations and becoming one of Hollywood's most beloved movies. Most of us
1:22.1	remember it to be a love story set in Morocco after World War II with a great
1:26.8	musical score, a gripping storyline, top lead and supporting actors, all set in
1:32.3	an American-owned bar in the Moroccan city of Casablanca. From there, each of us
1:37.6	probably remember little of the sentimental love story outside of the
1:41.4	characterizations, the famous quotes like Humphrey Bogart's Here's Looking at
1:45.9	Jew Kid and others like Round Up the Usual Suspects. Here at 1,001 Heroes,
1:51.7	back when we began the podcast, we released an episode titled Remembering
1:56.4	Casablanca and we covered a part of the story but certainly not all of it. I
2:01.1	pulled that episode early on in our podcast and put it on a back burner with the
2:06.1	idea that there was much more to tell about that story. We really did that one as
