On this episode of How To!: co-hosts Courtney Martin and Carvell Wallace sit down to talk about his new memoir, Another Word for Love. In the book, Carvell's examination of his own journey becomes a reflection on how so many of us spend our lives trying to become whole again. He and Courtney discuss his approach to writing and interviewing, what it means to be seen as good (versus actually being good), and why it's often so hard to forgive yourself.

Hi everyone, I'm Susie Weiss, and I've noticed there's just simply not enough podcasts in the world. So I'm launching my own. Let's go. Let's go, baby. Second Thought is a weekly show about pop culture. The stuff everyone's been binging, arguing about, obsessing over. Here's the thing about heated rivalry. I mean, even the most devoted swifties, I think we can agree, not our best work. We'll be hosting thoughtful conversations with culture's most important figures. Talk about genius.

that sort of ties together.

1:07.0

for you. I'm very excited about this. My co-host, Carvel Wallace, has a beautiful

memoir coming out. It's called Another Word for Love. There's so much in this book that I want

1:18.6

to talk to him about, more than we could possibly cover in one sit-down conversation. But I think

1:23.1

you're going to get a lot out of hearing Carvel talk about his journey as a writer and podcaster

1:28.1

and how he got so damn emotionally insightful. I hope you enjoy this little peek behind the curtain.

1:38.1

I wanted to hear more about your writing journey because I know you've done a bunch of different
