Welcome to another guided prayer. I'm Judah, and I would like to guide you through a very specific prayer.

A prayer on behalf of others.

Terms are used in the New Testament to describe the unique prayer, the type of prayer that is giving ourselves

to another person's pain, pursuit, plight, situation, circumstance. Oftentimes when I pray in this way, this type of prayer, I can even sometimes start to feel the emotion of the people I'm praying for.

Oftentimes you can feel as if in your soul there, their joy and excitement and anticipation or their pain and ache, heartache.

Strong biblical terms like intercession or the gap are used to describe this type of prayer

where you put yourself in the position of another and you begin to pray for them.

This prayer sometimes can happen spontaneously. You can be about your day and suddenly God gives you an overwhelming sense for that specific person.

A lot of the times it's someone that you know,

but sometimes it could even be a public figure that you don't know,

but you know their name, and you know enough to feel

what it must be like to be them, and you start to pray.

Oh God, strengthen them today.

Perhaps while I'm starting this guided prayer, a face of another or a name of another

is already coming to you, and maybe God will share with you a sense of extra care or concern, joy or ache for that person.

In the future, if this happens, I believe God is inviting you into a prayer for others,

which is a very specific type of prayer and one that is sacred.

One that Jesus prayed for us.

In fact, the scripture says that Jesus does this type of prayer for us in a place called eternity.

Praise for you by name.

Praying to himself, praying to the Father, but he says your name.

So we get to join him in a sense in this prayer.
