Hello and welcome to Unfiltered. My name is Oli Dugmore.

In 1986, the Green Party's headquarters were located in a shoebox room behind a Chinese restaurant on Clapham High Street.

It was there that my guest joined the party that she would go on to lead.

As the party's highest profile member, she would serve as a member of the European Parliament,

and then in 2010, she would become the groom's first and only MP.

A dedicated activist, as well as politician, her achievements include being the three-time winner of politician of the year,

at the Observer's Ethical Awards, championing animal, worker, LGBTQ+, and women's rights,

as well as a couple of arrests.

But in June this year, she announced that she would not be seeking re-election to the House of Commons.
