0:00.0	Thank you for listening to this message from Damon Thompson Ministries. I'm going to go to Romans 8 first, but I'm not going to stay there long. I think I'm going to journey over to Luke 19, possibly Luke 10. We may just
0:24.9	hop around all over the place, but I'm going to start in Romans 8. I'm going to skip ahead
0:29.7	all the way to verse 14, because if I do the first 13 verses I'll never get past the
0:33.6	first 13 verses which has become my history since quarantine I think seems like
0:38.4	since at least since the the second phase of quarantine we've been hanging out in Romans 8 quite a bit but I'm
0:45.5	I'm the the central topic stirring my heart today is Christus Victor and it has been now for a number of weeks and that's
0:54.9	probably that's probably not the right way to say it it's stirred me for a
0:58.3	number of years it's been lately that I've begun to see the Christus victor, which is Latin for Christ victory or the victory of Christ.
1:07.1	It's lately that I've began to see that through the lens of what the earth is crying out for in Romans 8.
1:14.0	That the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven,
1:18.0	the kingdoms of this world, becoming the kingdoms of our God
1:21.0	and of His Christ, the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, covering the
1:23.9	earth as the water cover the sea. Nations being given as an inheritance, all of these great
1:29.0	truths are necessitated by the revelation that Christ is not going to simply in the future win a great
1:39.3	victory on behalf of a defeated world, but Christ has already won a great victory on behalf of really
1:47.8	a world that was trapped and had no way out outside of the victory of Christ.
1:53.4	And so I want to, I think what I have in my heart to do
1:57.0	is just to stay in this Christus victor realm.
2:01.1	What I don't want to do is I don't want to fall, which I could so easily do, I don't
2:06.4	want to fall too deeply into the rut of trying to somehow create a war between penal substitution atonement and Christus Victor.
