Come on, I feel hope in this room tonight.

Chasing away disappointment, chasing away discouragement, chasing fear come on celebrate the hope of

Jesus tonight I walked into a service the other night in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and when I did, I felt the spirit of disappointment.

And I got into the service and the Holy Spirit said if we're going

tonight to confront the spirit of disappointment what would it take to

overturn the spirit of disappointment immediately I said hope he said

ultimately yes but not first he said there's a gate that you have to go through to get to hope

it's called desperation

here's the interesting thing about hope

oftentimes in scripture hope is associated

theologically with eschatology our expectation of a resurrection and a future home in heaven in the bible is called our hope we are actually told

concerning death and life in the presence of death that we are not to conduct ourselves as those who have no hope.

The problem is that English language for the word hope does not mirror the same outcome.

It's, it's, I hope we win.

I hope it doesn't rain like it may or may not.

Literally define the biblical word hope is an expectation for a predetermined end of good an

expectation of a predetermined end that is good so in essence when we get our hope back we understand that our end being bad or good is not negotiable any longer.

It's now predetermined.

And when you begin to see hope in that light, you quit acting like this may or may not end well.

And I know what it is to live with a disappointment that robs you from the joy
