When we begin to sing tonight and we begin to talk about set a fire down in my soul that I can't contain and I can't control, there was an era in the church that was an era in the church,

not an era, an era of time, a space and time, a season, an age,

in the church where we sang doctrine.

One of the reasons that we sang doctrine,

you'll find it very heavily in our hymns,

is because there was a large population of the church that was illiterate and because they were illiterate it was impossible for them to know and understand

doctrine because it was written so they would literally invest or they would invest into the people

the concept of the doctrines of the kingdom of god by way of song and people would sing about concepts of justification

through faith there are very few especially Pentecostal charismatic people that could give a

knowledgeable definition of what it means to be justified by faith the the subconscious

mantra of the charismatic church is ignorance is bliss I told somebody one

time I said you know what I said I better not say that I'm on time trying to
