Go with me to John 20. There's something I referenced a moment ago that I want to show you because I think it's real crucial for where we're going.

Three phases in the life of the nation of Israel. We're going to talk a little bit about tonight. Three phases in the life of the nation of Israel. First was before Pharaoh became a type and shadow of the devil and Egypt became a type in shadow of hell and bondage. Pharaoh and Egypt were both salvation for Israel. Before Israel was a nation, Israel was a family. Before Israel was a man named Israel was a man before there was a man named Israel. When there was a man named Jacob, who was becoming

a man called Israel to birth a nation out of his own home, they were living in an incredible

crisis that came as a consequence of the rejection of Joseph by his brothers. But Joseph in a season of rejection maintained a posture called faithfulness

out of the posture called faithfulness instead of getting embittered over his issue,

he uses it as a license to rescue the very people who wronged him.

That's a mouthful, okay?

He uses what was against him as leverage to become the force that rescues the very people

that he should have allowed to roll off into bondage.

He reaches back and rescues his brothers because he's faithful in an incredibly difficult trying situation of betrayal, of bondage, of being blud.

His brothers lied about the situation concerning him.

They threw him in a pit.

They sold him into slavery.

Potipers' wife is a whore who's trying to entice him into bed.

When he has the character to reject it,

she creates a scandal that says,

if you're going to reject me,

you're going to pay the price,

I'm going to say you tried to rape me.

He ends up in prison,

and while he's there,
