Mark 6, verse 1. Jesus left that part of the country and returned with his disciples to Nazareth, his hometown.

The next Sabbath he began teaching in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed.

They asked, where did he get all of this wisdom

the power to perform such miracles where did he get all this wisdom and the power to perform such

miracles then they scoffed he's just a carpenter the son of mary and the brother of james joseph

judas and simon and his sisters live right here among us they were deeply

offended and refused to believe in him so here in the story they go from amazed to offended

in a verse they're in amazement and then they enter into logic and what was amazing is now offensive

because they begin to apply the rule of reason and he's not reasonable.

The kingdom is not reasonable. So they begin in amazement. They end in offense and the way they get

from amazement to offense is by going through the gate of reason

now boy there's there's a lot there they scoffed he's just a carpenter the son of mary the brother of james joseph

judas simon and his sisters live right here among us they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him

then jesus told them a prophet is honored everywhere except in his

own hometown among his relatives and his own family. And because of their unbelief, he could not do

any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them. And he was

amazed at their unbelief. They were amazed and he was amazed at their unbelief they were amazed and he was amazed right he was amazed by how they failed to properly steward amazement

he was in wonder over their inability to remain in wonder.
