Just before he ascended into heaven,

he left instructions for the apostles.

He had chosen by the Holy Spirit.

After the sufferings of his cross,

Jesus appeared alive many times.

He appeared alive many times to those same apostles

over a 40-day period.

Jesus proved to them, with many convincing signs,

that he had been resurrected.

During these encounters he taught them the truths of God's kingdom realm

and shared meals with him.

side trick question.

Do you know any place where the truths he shared with them after the resurrection are recorded in the scripture.

You don't know whether what he shared with them

is recorded in the epistles or not. We know during this period of time

Paul's not even with them. So two-thirds of the New Testament were not written by a man who walked with Jesus before or after the

resurrection in a way that we think of walking with Jesus.
