| 0:00.0 | Thank you for listening to this message from Damon Thompson Ministries. |
| 0:11.1 | Turn with me in your Bibles to John 21, John Chapter 21. |
| 0:24.8 | I'm going to just dive in here sort of as the Lord lets this unfold in my heart. It's interesting because you, two of the most challenging |
| 0:30.7 | types of text to teach from are first of all the one that no one is familiar with because you'll have to as a leader |
| 0:38.5 | spend a great deal of time familiarizing people with the text you've got to familiarize them |
| 0:43.0 | with the backstory with what proceeds and and and then what we also just kind of the |
| 0:48.8 | cultural context at times the more difficult text to minister from, in my opinion, is the one everybody's |
| 0:55.7 | familiar with, because we have a tendency to sort of check out and say, yeah, I already heard that |
| 1:01.0 | story. However, every season that you go through in life gives you a different lens or perspective |
| 1:07.9 | into what you're reading or what you're hearing. And so this has been a text. |
| 1:12.4 | John 21 is the story of the disciples who go fishing after the resurrection and Jesus shows up |
| 1:18.1 | and tells them to cast their net on the right side of the ship. Super familiar story. |
| 1:22.0 | Really familiar for me. I begin to look back and think that I probably cycle back around to this particular text |
| 1:29.2 | probably about every 18 months or so. And I think I will continue to do that because it |
| 1:34.8 | becomes a litmus test for me as to where I am in the area of beloved identity. And the |
| 1:40.8 | Lord's been doing so much in me personally. and I'm ministering a lot out of that experience |
| 1:45.5 | of what the last couple of months have been like in my own life. What I think Yahweh wants to finish |
| 1:51.6 | maybe in the next about six more weeks, five to six more weeks of really finishing some things |
| 1:57.7 | as it relates to being seated, as it relates to really coming into a posture of rest. And so I'm going to show that to you out of, by way of the text, I may be a more, more exigenetical than what I would normally do in a setting like this, but I'm, I'm really stirred about it. I believe I have a specific word from the Lord. So just kind of buckle in and journey with us, |
| 2:18.1 | and we'll kind of see where we end up. I'm going to, I'm going to read it out of the passion |
| 2:22.7 | translation. I may come back and read some of it out of the new King James as well. But John |
| 2:28.4 | 21, I'm going to read probably a little bit more than I'm going to, going to'm not going to particularly share about the back part of the story where I could. Man, there's some stuff in here where Jesus is reaffirming, I believe, Peter's apostleship by way of asking him, do you love me? Do you love me? Do you love me? Tend my lambs, feed my sheep. We're going to read some of that. |
