Thank you for listening to this message from Damon Thompson Ministries. Mark chapter 4 and I'm going to start reading in verse 35. It's a it's a

super familiar text and I'm grateful for that today because I won't have to spend a lot of time

familiarizing you with the text but I want to pull some things that I believe the

Lord's been speaking to me about regarding where we are and I want to talk to you this morning about interior rest and I

want to talk to you this morning about the other side of that which is interior

restlessness something that I refer to usually as interior

duplicity. We're going to talk a little bit more about that this morning. So let's go

to Mark 4, Chapter 35, says later that day after it grew dark, Jesus said to his disciples,

let's cross over to the other side of the lake.

This is also in Matthew 8, by the way. Matthew 8 shares the same story,

and it's really, really, there's a lot of harmony

between the two accounts.

So let's cross over to the other side of the lake.

After they had sent the crowd away they shoved off from the shore with him

as he had been teaching from the boat. There were other boats that sailed with them suddenly

as they were crossing the lake a ferocious tempest. with until it was all but swamped. But Jesus was calmly sleeping in the stern or the

innermost part of the ship. Jesus is sleeping and he's resting on a cushion.

Your Bible may say pillow there.

So they shook him awake saying,

teacher, don't you even care that we are all about to die? And in light of what we're going through globally,

I want to listen to what they're asking.

Don't you even care that we are all about to die?
