Yawe has been saying to me, been speaking to me while I've been away.

I've been going back and forth between,

if I've got three favorite chapters in the Bible

would be John 15, number one,

Romans 8, number two, and John 17, number 3. Those would be in order.

My three favorite chapters in the Bible would be John 15, followed by Romans 8, followed

by John 17, followed by every other chapter in John.

So just really thankful for the pattern, the prayer of Jesus in John 17.

I don't think we'll make it that far today.

I'm done lying to myself about how far I'm going to get in one of these services.

So go to Romans 8. I'm going to begin reading.

Actually I'm going to begin reading at the end of Roman 7, kind of the B-claws of

verse 24, and I want to remind you that there were originally no divisions in scripture.

There was no chapter divisions, there were no verse divisions, it was all written in the letter form.

Remember that. This is Paul's letter to the Romans, okay, or to the church in Rome.

All right, following me, so this is a letter, see it as a letter.

So I want to pick up at the end of what we would call

chapter 7, verse 24, the B-claws of the letter.

So who has the power to rescue this miserable man

from the unwelcome intruder of sin and death?
