I'm going to stay in the vein of devotion tonight, but I'm going to stop still about 25% into this thing on the fig tree.

And I'm going to return back to the fig tree deal probably at the beginning of the year.

Just because I believe the Lord has said enough about that particular aspect of it,

that for me to now add these next three or four points onto that,

I think it could muddy the waters a little bit.

And I want us to stay there.

But I have no inclination that we're to leave this vein of devotional grace we're in right now.

It is not a reach to say it fixes everything and is not a reach to say nothing else fixes anything.

I'll say that again.

The adjustments in the devotional life will fix every other area of your life and nothing else will.

And one of the mistakes that we've made over the years is we've attempted to apply grand principles while not participating in consistent disciplines.

And our attempt to apply grand principles caused us to become

lovers of principles instead of presence. God never intended for the kingdom to be a list of

tricks that if you do them, they'll work. Interestingly, hear what I'm about to tell you, if you do

them, they'll work. The principles of the kingdom actually apply

very well into the life of the unbeliever. They just never bring the hoped for a result, which was

nearness to the face of the one who gave the principle. And I don't want you to leave having,

one of the most dangerous things that ever happened to the message of the kingdom is it fell into the hands of men who understood the principle but did not know how to recognize the

presence so some of the people that i grew up around that had the deepest what we would call

revelation of the kingdom actually had some of the most perverted lifestyles, and they ended up bringing the church

into a perversion of authority because they understood principles that were not generated out of
