I came into the last wilderness society with an intention of teaching some of this and

then we got into this gate of renewal.

You remember and we began to spend the next three days learning about the ways of renewal.

And one of the things that we learned

that I think will help set us up for where we're going tonight

is this.

That is that revival is something that if it's appropriately stewarded an individual should only need to

encounter once.

Revival means a restoration of vitality.

It means in essence that vitality has been lost and recovered.

What I do not want to do is I do not want to create a cod dependent culture of people that live, losing and receiving the restoration of vitality and

believing that that's normal or functional. It's neither normal nor

functional for you to believe that the life of the kingdom individual is supposed to go from,

well I had vitality and I lost vitality and I had vitality and I lost vitality

and even if you want to somehow marry that to an illegal theology of the mountain in the valley.

It's still illegal because you're designed to go from glory to glory, not mountain to valley.

So what are we contending for? First all we are contending for people who have lost

vitality to come into a measure of encounter that that births the restoration of

vitality but for that individual we don't want that births the restoration of vitality.

But for that individual, we don't want them to, in six months,

again, need the restoration of vitality.
