Take your Bible and turn with me over to the book of Jeremiah and go to the first chapter of the book of Jeremiah.

And let me just kind of spill some of the things I feel from the Lord that have been in my heart today.

I've been writing some things down. And so I'm just rejoicing. I'll go ahead and tell you about this, since it's sitting here, this book, The Great Revival in Carolina, we have copies of those up here tonight. You can pay four bucks and get one of these. And it's a history of a great outpouring of the spirit that happened in revival.

This was written by a Baptist pastor in many ways to show the reality of the manifestations

that accompany an outpouring of the spirit. It's a Baptist pastor who's in here talking about

people shaking and falling in the floor and unusual manifestations and how it's it's not right

to cry out for a move of the spirit as long as

it happens on your terms.

If you're going to cry for God to do something, it has to happen on his terms.

His terms are not your terms.

He does not pour the spirit out to make you look dignified, distinguished, and intellectual.

His goal in the outpouring of the spirit is not the stroking of your humanistic pride

by making people think the reason revival came is because you intellectually ascertained the situation

and came down with keys out of a book that you read.

Why do I know that?

I tried.

So I know all the words of that song, but avail yourself of one of those books.

It's just great faith builders. Dutch Sheets has taught us that when the Hebrews used the word

testimony, they were literally saying, do it again.

That their word testify was not simply to talk about what the Lord had done, but it was to release

in the heart of God our hunger to see him do it again. And the Hebrews don't live in a linear world.
