Thank you so much for checking out this episode of Cruise Radio. Very happy to have you here. A review of Carnival Legend this week,

a Western Caribbean sailing from Tampa. And staff writer, Richard Sims, has a recap of all the

cruise news over the past week, jumping right to him now. Hey, Richard. Hey, Doug. Big news out of the

Carnival Cruise Line camp regarding their controversial

new rewards program. Yeah, you know, we wanted to cover this last week, but it had just

come out when we were recording and we were sort of waiting for more clarification. And while we did

get a little bit more clarification, there's still a lot of unanswered questions, but

long story short, Carnival blinked. You'll recall that a few months ago, Carnival rolled out the news

that the VIFP program was going to be replaced with Carnival Rewards Program. And that news

landed with a resounding thud. A whole lot of people complained very, very, very loudly.

At the time, the plan was very clearly in the embryonic stages.

Even as, you know, whether it was John Heald or the brand ambassador or Christine Duffy, the carnival president, when they were talking about it, they tried to make it very clear that things weren't necessarily solidified and that they had – because this isn't rolling out until next summer, summer of 2026, so they have time to work out the details.
