That big chunk of time in European history from the fifth century, right up to the 15th century.

Yeah, a thousand years of knights, castles, and drum roll, please.

Pies.

I know the ancient Egyptians technically invented pies,

but medieval Europe is when they really perfected the whole thing.

Now, medieval Europe is pretty hard to miss.

Anywhere from the 600s through the 1600s will get you there.

If you spot Johannes Gutenberg

in his printing press,

turn around and head back.

Okay, this is one of the craziest things

I have ever seen.

I guess it's technically a sport?

It's called jousting.

And from what I can tell, it's just two dudes on horses with long sticks smacking into each other head on. It's like the demolition derby of the 1300s. I will say though, hmm, the stadium food here? A thousand percent better than the 21st century.
