Fair warning, as you could probably tell by the title, this is not going to be a normal

episode of Gone Cold.

If you've listened to our episodes concerning Glen Samuel McCurley's pretrial hearings,

what follows might seem redundant since those defense motions to dismiss evidence are the

basis of this appeal.

Still, we feel a responsibility to keep y'all updated.

For any new listeners out there that don't know the story, a man named Glen Samuel McCurley

abducted, raped, and strangled Carla Walker to death on February 17, 1974.

He was finally arrested in September of 2021 after Fort Worth Cold Case detectives, Leo

Wagner and Jeff Bennett, utilized authorum incorporated forensic genetic genealogy.

His DNA profile was obtained from Carla's bra, the source of which was the man's semen.

On the third day of his August 2021 trial, McCurley changed his plea to guilty.
