Our guy today got a special guest on the podcast, his name is Carl Truman.

So he is an ecclesiastical historian and author, but he's not a theologian.

So I call him a theologian in the interview and he politely corrected me because he's

English and he was very, very polite about it.

But this guy is a big time brain and a big time historian and goes through a lot of great

stuff.

I really enjoyed my time with him.

So he actually was the professor of historical theology and church history at Westminster

Theological Seminary, where he held the Paul Woolly chair of church history.

And in 2018, he resigned his position at Westminster to become a full time undergraduate

professor at Grove City College, where he's serving as a full professor in their department

of biblical and religious studies as of the fall semester of that same year.

But he's also a fellow at the ethics and public policy center and a contributing editor

at first things.

And he is the best-selling author of a tremendous book, one of the best books I've read this

year.

And it's this the rise and triumph of the modern self and also a more accessible and

smaller version of some of the same content.

It's this one I believe is released this year and it's called Strange New World.
