Like many of us you might have a child who has, at least for now, walked away from the faith, and you're worried.

I mean, that worry might just consume your heart and soul.

It might be that you're replaying in your head over and over,

what could I have done differently? And when you're doing that, it feels like you have nothing

left to give.

I'm John Fuller joined by Danny Huerta.

He's the vice president of parenting and youth here at Focus on the Family.

And today we have some advice about caring for the rest of your family while you're parenting a prodigal child.

And to help, we're going to hear a conversation.

What created that opportunity for you?

Well, when I was a Saturday night, and I'm preaching on the family and I called the guy and I say I just knocked out my took called my elders and I called one of my staff and I said you got to you got a take over I can't preach and what had

happened was is my wife was enabling and I was trapped in my own house she

would not let me kick him out and we were not on the same page and I felt trapped, no excuses, I knocked him out.

And I just told the guys, I'm done. And I wrote my resignation letter and I brought it in on Monday to the elders and they said what are you talking about?

Because I had shared with him every step of the way, all the stuff, you know.

I'd sold my house to pay for rehab and he's sober for a while he has a kid out of wedlock all the things that go go on and all this and I just felt

trapped I didn't feel worthy, and I had counsel, I'm so grateful I had my dad and everybody else, but they said,
