The unpaid work of caring for loved ones who are aging, sick, or living with a disability is often rewarding, but it can also be exhausting, stressful, or take a toll on a caregiver's mental

health. These strains have only increased during the pandemic when many services that

used to provide a respite for caregivers are closed. We look this hour at caregiving,

how the pandemic has affected it, and how to get support.

This is Forum. I'm Mina Kim. A new documentary is shedding light on the strain placed on family members caring for ill loved ones, titled Caregiver, a Love Story. It tells the story of Rick, a California man struggling to care for his wife who is dying of cancer. The decline has been more difficult than I expected.
