people are expecting an all New York World Series, Mets, Yankees.

There's also a strong possibility of an all Southern California World Series, Dodgers and Angels.

You know, Dodgers would make the playoffs. Angels, of course, squandered the division to the Royals.

So you have those hyperprovincial battles that would be more friendly to, you know, big market interests.

And so I think when it ended up being all Missouri and these are smaller market teams,

I think that was definitely a big surprise and turn off to a lot of people.

But like you said, coming back to it decades later, with a like for reappraisal, with a fresh set of eyes and a unique

perspective, diving in, I found the all Missouri I-70 factor to be incredibly fascinating

in a way that nothing else really could have been. And it was just lost on people at the time.

But with the passage of time, yeah, the I-70 showdown is a great storyline.

you about doing this project about the Royals and Cardinals back in 85? Well, for one, it kind of

stuck in my mind in a really unique way.

Obviously, the 85 series is best known for Don Dankinger's infamous missed call in game six,

basically making him to St. Louis, what Bucky Dent is to New England.

And I just had this feeling because there was so much focus on just

Dankinger's call. And the series had been so largely forgotten otherwise outside of Missouri.
