Even going back to high school I was diagnosed with lupus when I was 15 and that for me was a real

moment and vulnerability I'd say and a moment in

sort of facing life and death in a way or dealing with things that you wouldn't

normally deal with as a 15 year old and being in and out of hospitals and that

opened up a different type of connection for me,

which was much more of a heart to heart connection.

And I started to realize that it was okay to be vulnerable.

It was okay to be scared.

It was okay to be imperfect.

It was okay to not get straight A's and you know that wasn't the end game in life you

know there was a lot more so I had an experience I guess early on around that

which I think sort of started to foster this, you know, desire to

meet people imperfectly. And you know, it's something I practice in my daily

life now of even, you know, someone's like, hey, how are you?

My reaction, I think it's sort of the snap that we all have is that, I'm great, how are you?

But actually, you know, when it feels safe and it feels right as being

like hey you know what I'm really struggling with this but this is great and

something opens up there's sort of that that spark in connection versus just

staying on the surface, which is so beautiful and sort of is kind of what fuels me.
