I can't do it.

I don't have epaulettes on my shirt.

I've piloted a boat a few times,

maybe a 20-foot runabout, but never a 700-foot super yacht. Captain Sandy from below-deck Mediterranean is one of the most phenomenal and impressive people you will ever meet. Her life journey has taken so many

turns and she literally started out in the maritime industry from the bottom up, on the

bottom of a boat, you know, spackling barnacles, chipping barnacles off of giant boats. And then she learned how to be a yachtie.

She went to sea school.

And eventually she became a captain of some of the most impressive vessels on the high sea.

She has been all over the world.

She's gone for months at a time.

And she has gone through hell to reach the very top of her industry. Captain Sandy, welcome to Kennedy Saves the World. Oh, my gosh. Thank you. And so you ran a 20-foot runabout? Yeah. It's pretty awesome. The 20-foot runabout on Lake Washington? You know, that's a pretty big boat. It's not big, but it's fun.

Yeah, they're fun, but you have to know how to navigate to drive it. Yes, you have to learn how to, you know, because boats don't have brakes. That's right. So first thing you learn. Did you hit the dock? A few times. I hit the dock with a jet ski for sure. but I was always pretty good at, you know, you talk about sometimes you have to

use the wind and go in the opposite direction of where you want to go in order to get there.

That's right. I love that you remember that. Yes. I never really knew that my crew member

paid attention to that. But when the wind is pushing against you, sometimes you have to go the opposite way
