0:12.1	After 11 years in power, Margaret Thatcher's government was facing one of its deepest domestic crises yet, the Poltax riot.

0:22.8	Channel and up the coast in Rotterdam. After a flush period of hits on the UK and
0:28.4	Netherlands charts, Dutch banned Johannes Vank and the Clogheds were facing financial ruin.
0:33.9	In an early 1989 interview, Cloghead's keyboardist Mohamed Sharibi made an off-the-cuff remark
0:39.7	about disliking pea soup and smoked sausage. By mid-1989, the clogheads faced a boycott of
0:46.2	their records and legal action from the Dutch soup makers union, all of which coalesced into a movement
0:51.8	called the Air to Soup Ultras.
0:59.3	Look, his comments about Shoup were unwise, to say the least, but he was now a spoken guy.
1:03.2	He once got us kicked out of a branch of Fabo in Rotterdam for saying the cheese sandwich and a glass of milk was a meal indicative of the joyless spirit of the Low Countries.
1:07.3	But the Shoup thing really caused us problems.

1:11.2	Maastricht to Den Haag. Even the Belgians were mad at us. So, we went back to the UK.
1:16.7	It couldn't have come at a worse time for Vank, as their record label was threatening legal

1:26.7	their studio budget, and there was simply no way to
1:29.5	record anywhere in the Netherlands without finding their cars vandalized, their studio blockaded,
1:34.5	their engineers covered in lukewarm pea soup. We'd work with Richard Highsmith many times before,
1:40.4	and he had a studio in London, but he was going through some legal and personal difficulties at the time.
