Today, we'll hear from Captain Zeke Zellmer.

Zellmer served as a communications officer aboard the USS Cavalla during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Philippine Sea, the largest carrier-to-carrier battle in history. During the battle,

the Cavalla destroyed one of Japan's two main aircraft carriers, the Shokaku.

In 1939, I was in engineering school at the University of Wisconsin Extension in Milwaukee,

and studying to be an electrical engineer.
