Alan May after that will start with the Caps, a two-one loss last night in Carolina in game four.

The series is even up at two games apiece. The Caps played much better than they did in game three

when they were dominated much better than they did in game three.

In fact, you could argue it may have been one of their best games, if not the best game they've

had all series, even though they lost it. They outshot Carolina, the hitting was even,

and they were much better on the penalty kill last night. But two huge breakdowns cost them

the game. The first came just 17 seconds into the

game when Fogel got the goal for Carolina, and he would become a prominent figure later in the

game. We'll get to that in a moment. And then at the end of the second period, a period I thought

the caps dominated. They got a power play goal from

Ovechkin to tie the game at one apiece, and you thought that they were off and running.

They were playing their best hockey, perhaps, of the series, or at least since the first period

of game one, and they gave up a goal on what appeared to be a line change and a mix-up defensively, and

Tara Vinen gets the game winner with just 28 seconds left in the second period.

Now, there were still 20 minutes left, and maybe more had they gotten one in the third

period and forced overtime, and Kuznetsov had a point-blank,

wide-open opportunity at the end of a power play late in the game, but Marazic,

Carolina's goaltender, made a great stop, and that was that. Now, the big discussion coming

out of that game was the hit on T.J. O'Shee by Fogel, a hit that may have
