Hey coach we were just talking about I don't know what time the game ended and after you did your media and the guys shower did you guys jump on the acela like at 11 12 what time did you get up to to the New York area.

Um I think we left at 10 o'clock so right away. Oh wow immediately fall in the game so we get right out there and then uh somewhere around midnight 12 30. Um get to the hotel so you didn't get much sleep.

No not a lot not a lot. So I can hear it in your voice the frustration because you know the first few times we had you only been just so you know eager and excited it's got to be

frustrating but Sergei did point out to us I guess in 2018 your first year coach was it in Hershey. Yeah that you you got off to a rough start there and you ended up I don't know when the league whatever you did when your conference. Um so you've been through this before you want to talk about the start how frustrating it is and just I don't know some bright spots.

Yeah it's not the way that we want to draw it up to repeat right but um we're just we're just struggling to score goals right now and um doing some good things from controlling the game standpoint and um a lot of things within the game um to create opportunities to score and it just hasn't gone away thus far.

Usually you go through that at certain points in the year game two games three games but it's it's just um probably a little bit more frustrating because it's it's right out of the gate and it's now um you know we're five games into this and and to be going through something like this early in the years.

It's not fun for anybody and and now um we've got to find a way to not feel sorry for ourselves and digger ourselves out of it.

Something that just kind of cropped up out of nowhere like did you see this in the pre-season? Did you have any hint of this? I know the pre-season games are different you know not quite the same intensity and everything but did you see it coming?

I know to be to be dead honest with you no not at all I thought our game in the pre-season was good and you just you know like for for some of our.

Personnel to not be on the board yet with a goal you just you would never draw that up you couldn't bet on that in Vegas.

She backs from his next off oh gets his first one last night but we're just we're yeah we're real snakebitten and like I said usually that comes with a few players at a time that's always going to happen that's a part of sports but every single guy or every guy is feeling it you're probably going on a pretty good run.

But right now we just cannot find the back of the net with our entire group.

So coach big time jumping O.V. shots last night he had seven in the first period that's the most shots by any player in any period so far in the NHL this year.

He winds up with 14 on the night as you mentioned he scored on the power play so taking an L isn't great but getting O.V. more involved in the offense that jump starting it that can't be a bad thing.

Yeah he was he was dominant last night I thought right right from the that first power play just an attack mindset and you could tell right away he was not deferred last night and any opportunity that he got he was he was attacking and and setting the tone for our group so I thought last night probably again as crazy as it is and nobody wants to hear anything about.

Playing well like I thought that's probably one of our best games if not going back to the film our best game of the year and we lose for one so you go what the hell and and and he drove that like he like you said right away from the start of the game.

The shot ball you'm attacking getting to the net like even the goal that's this allowed for me that's when when you watch that that's someone that that's in desperation mode like flying into the net trying to get the puck in there he goes barreling in there they end up disalowing the goal but it just shows you like he he literally was was ready to go through the end wall to try to get that puck across the line and so yeah I thought he led the way last night.

Talking to Spencer Carberry coach of the Washington capitals they fall last night four to one so I was looking at a stat that I'm not I'm not familiar with and maybe you can explain it it's an analytics and it basically says that you guys are the second on luckiest team in the in the league your PDO is point nine four five do you know that term can explain it to us.

It just essentially means that you're expected goal so how's the best way to explain it so as you go through a game computers and and they can shot chart where you're shooting the puck from where the puck's moving from point A to point B and the opportunities that you're getting towards the net so your shots.
