| 0:17.0 | Mackie says that free markets and private property deliver incredible value to the world. |
| 0:22.0 | So why don't defenders of free markets seize the moral high |

| 0:27.0 | The for-profit sector has been basically branded or |
| 0:33.4 | stereotype by its enemies, its critics, as fundamentally |
| 0:40.5 | selfish and greedy and only interested in making money only interested in profits. |
| 0:46.0 | And of course businesses have to make profits and profits are a good thing. |
| 0:50.0 | And yet that's not necessarily why business exists, I mean business exists to create |
| 0:57.0 | value for other people. And through exchanging that value they create, goods and services, then the person that's exchanging is making |
| 1:06.1 | a profit or they wouldn't make the trade and the business that's creating the products or services |
| 1:10.7 | is also making a profit as well. |
| 1:12.5 | Profit is a good thing. |
| 1:14.0 | But that's not necessarily why it exists. |
| 1:19.5 | And unfortunately, it's been stained as only selfish and greedy and as if somehow or another |
| 1:27.6 | that exists only in business and doesn't exist in other sectors of our society. |
| 1:31.6 | Sure they're bad actors in business, but they're bad actors in |
| 1:34.4 | in politics and law, in medicine, in education, and all the other areas. |
