Summary

This week's episode features updates on the UK and French elections showing dramatic shifts to the left contradicting US mass media, US self-induced global economic isolation in pursuit of punishing countries doing business with China, Trump and Biden equally unwilling to solve Social Security's financial problems by taxing incomes of the rich as Congress could and should. Professor Wolff closes with an interview with Dr. Harriet Fraad on global declines in marriage and birth rates and those declines' connections to capitalism.

1:21.3

that's a global issue too.

1:23.0

And finally, we're going to compare Trump and Biden on the question of Social Security funding

and what the conditions are that people all to worry about in terms of future benefits

1:36.4

that are supposed to come to masses, millions of Americans, but may in fact not be there.

1:44.6

And then we'll have the second part of the program devoted to Dr. Harriet Fraud talking

1:50.0

about the radical changes in marriage and birth rates in the United States, but also

globally, as the economic condition of women radically alters, and that, of course, touches all of us

2:04.0

in multiple ways. So let's get started. A story about the elections that took place in

July, in France, and in Britain is of course complicated by the fact that for many in the world, outside

2:19.8

of those countries, or at least outside of Europe, are not aware of those details about

2:26.3

the elections and are relying on mass media to convey them. And that poses a special problem

2:33.3

in the United States. And I must say, as a person
