And in 30 plus years of counseling kids and families, we have never seen this level of anxiety,

avoidance, fear of growing up.

Kids are afraid of milestones we couldn't wait for. They don't

want to drive. They don't want to risk. They don't want to try. And increasingly, they don't believe

they can. We're watching what we would call a crisis of capability. Kids who are smart, gifted,

deeply loved, but ensure they can handle life.

And here's what's tricky. Parents are exhausted. Culture is loud. Experts are everywhere.

And we're seeing more and more families step back instead of step in.
