I don't know. It's whatever it is. I'm here. Very excited. This is a series I'm going to be doing as the primary season is upon us. And interviewing different candidates, we had Kat Abu Ghazale and Nate Bluin of Utah. And today we're going to keep it a little bit more local and

talk about Los Angeles City Council. For those of you who don't know, L.A. City Council's been

one of the most corrupt places outside of D.C., let's be real. And that has only recently begun

to change over the past five years, I would say, or even less, as we've had some real

progressive candidates, some candidates that have ousted longstanding incumbents who've been

embroiled in all kinds of scandal, corruption, bribery, also just kind of

out and out racism. I think we all remember the Nouri Martinez tapes and, you know, Angelinos were,

there are many of us. It's a huge city. And we also need our Zoron moment. There's a lot of progressives here. There are a lot of people who cannot afford to live here. And that is why my next guest is running for office. She's a mom, a renter, a Venice resident, and proud daughter of immigrants who was born and raised in Southern California as a housing and community development lawyer. She spent her career fighting to build more housing,

protect renters, and improve the lives of working families. Her decades of experience as an

advocate inside and outside of government makes her a bold leader that we need for LA City Council,

specifically District 11. Please welcome FISA, Mal FISA welcome. Hi. Thanks so much for

having me Francesca. Thank you so much for being here. Gary Johnson says I'm in LA. We need people

in charge here that don't suck. Indeed. And FISA doesn't suck, which is a really low bar.

I mean, terribly low.

But I did want to talk to you kind of about, you know, maybe some of what a how I introed

the show and introed LA City Council.

Again, this is a massive city.

And our elected have been pretty bad up until

recently. How we're kind of in this new era. And it's really, I would argue from the outside,

because I'm not versed. I'm starting to learn more. It's about, you know, year, gosh, what is it?

Like, oh, my God. Did I move here in 2018? So like year eight for me. But I'm starting to understand,
