Summary

In this Candid Conversation John shares his reflections about a recent encounter he had with Nik Wallenda of the famous Flying Wallendas who have performed audacious feats such as tight rope walking over Niagara Falls.

When asked by John how he overcomes fear, Nik shared that he respects the danger and believes preparation is the greatest way to handle fear. He also acknowledges that fear is not something that will ever be eliminated but that a proper perspective allows you to focus on the positive. John points out that action minimizes fear!

John and Mark also take a few minutes to share about their time in Texas and what it looked like for John to maximize his time with a key team member by being present and intentional.

that every person can improve and I believe that every day has improvement possibilities.

1:02.4

Yeah. And you know that kind of helps me begin every day understanding that this is a

1:08.1

day for me to get better to improve and every day is going to have improvement possibilities

1:12.9

and what I mean but that is I'm going to have experiences see people engage in a way

1:19.1

that there's something that I'm going to learn. So I really begin my day with a great sense

1:23.7

of anticipation because I love to learn and I think that when people talk about disciplines

1:31.9

in their life to me it's very important to be disciplined but I think that for me anticipation

1:39.9

replaces a lot of discipline for me and what I mean by that is very simple that because

1:44.9

I anticipate growing you know people would say we are very disciplined and yeah and your

1:49.5

growth isn't well I suppose I am but it's the anticipation that causes me to be this way

1:56.6

more than just I've got to be disciplined in this area and I say that because I think on a

2:03.5

podcast sometimes when we talk if a person would approach everything with anticipation every

experience every lunch they're going to have there's an anticipation that I'm going to
