It's a sparkling start to yet another week in the big wide world of fear, loathing and recrimination.

But don't worry, there's none of that here at the world headquarters of the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. We've been regaled

all weekend with the news that we won't be having Christmas, that people are still queuing

perpetual and toilet paper, and that soon the world will probably end and will all be

eating our own children. Can everyone please calm down a little bit? If you're panic blind for Christmas, you're an idiot. If you're stocking up on frozen turkey, you ought to be ashamed of yourself.

And if you really believe that the entire supply chain is going to seize up,

you might want to take a long, hard look in the mirror, before it cracks before your very eyes.

Stop believing the hype, stop listening to the fearmongers and start living your life like someone who's actually got a brain. Please tell me what's happening where you are so that we can tell everyone else.

I guarantee you, I will not find anyone who's complaining about empty shelves, long queues or shortages

of anything.

And if you can prove me wrong, then please do.

The energy situation is, of course, still a bit of a concern, but that's much more

because of the price of your supplies, rather than the die of warnings that factory is going

to close down forever, and thousands are going to be thrown on the jobless heap. Last night, I noticed

the lights and Canary Wharf were all switched off. Literally, the lights are off and there's

nobody home. I'm sure that will do the trick to make sure we have enough electricity to power all our iPhones.

It's just unbelievable, isn't it?
