And yet, I welcome Conrad Black, distinguished biographer writing for the National Post

about what apparently these are anecdotes,

has moved the Canadian people and the American people

to be shy of each other in these summer months.

Conrad, I have a report from a colleague of mine

spending weeks in Kennebunk on the main shore

that downtown is not crowded,

as it usually is by Canadian visitors,

that the talk in town is that Canadians canceled their vacations or canceled their bookings,

which is odd because these are Canadians clearly well-to-do.

Kennebunk is not an inexpensive vacation, but they're not there.

I also heard there's some talk that they're not in the outer banks of North Carolina as well,

certainly in Kennebunk, not there.

Are you seeing anything comparable in Canada about Americans being shy of vacationing with you?

Yes, I saw some statistics published earlier this week showing, confirming what

you said, that Canadians were not going as much to the U.S., but that Americans weren't

coming here as much as they usually do.

And I know just, I'm in Toronto, and even though it's a big city, in the metropolitan

populations, the same as Chicago's, but, you know, there's lots to see here.
