Last Friday, I teamed up with Lance from the Canadian-based politics show The Surfs. To talk about the tragic events of last week in Tumblr Ridge, British Columbia.

On Tuesday, February 10th, an 18-year-old named Jesse Van Rootslar killed her mother and stepbrother in their home,

then took two guns, and went to Tumblr Ridge Secondary School, where she

killed five students, one teacher, and finally herself. Two other kids were critically injured

with gunshot wounds, but have survived. The shooter did attend Tumblr Ridge Secondary School

years ago, but dropped out. For the past three to five years, it's kind of unclear.

Jesse identified as a transgender girl. Tumblr Ridge is a very small town with just 2,400

residents in northeastern British Columbia. This was the worst school shooting in Canada since 1989.
