Thank you. Hello and welcome to Tech Won't Save Us, or should I say Tech Won't Save Canada. You might be wondering why an episode of the podcast is dropping today instead of on the usual Thursday when the episodes come out.

Well, that's because this isn't the usual weekly episode.

This is a bonus episode for a new series that I'm doing on tech and the tech industry

and critical tech analysis in Canada.

So trying to dig into some of those issues that are particular to Canada itself instead of the usual discussions

that I have that are more international focused or focused on the United States and what is

happening down there. And so I'm really excited to be able to explore this. And obviously I can do

it because the membership drive that I held in April for the podcast's second birthday hit its stretch goal.

And so I was able to do a bonus series and I really wanted to look at what was happening in Canada.

So that's what this is all about.

I'm also partnering with Passage, a left-wing publication here in Canada on this series.

And obviously the episode itself will still be posted here on the feed where anyone who subscribes

can listen for free, but then I'll also be writing an article for passage based on the

episode so that these in-depth conversations about tech issues in Canada can reach even more

people.
