It is days, hours until the Canadians go to the polls.

It is important to set the table because these candidates are distinctly different.

There's no struggle to draw a line where I stand and where he stands.

And Conrad's going to help us understand the mystery candidate here.

From out of nowhere, a central banker named Carney enters the race, not by vote of the people,

but by vote of the Liberal Party that's been in power for nine or ten years under the now exited

Justin Trudeau.

What do we need to know about Mark Carney,

the candidate for the premiership from the Liberal Party?

Yeah, good evening to you, John.

Well, he's in this tradition that the Liberal Party has

of elevating leaders in an unusual way.

And it must be said the Liberal Party of Canada is the most successful political party,

electorally speaking, in any large democracy in the world.

Large democracy, I mean, it's over 20 million people.
