The Realm of Canada, I'm taught this by my colleague, Conrad Black, distinguished biographer, writing his column at the National Post about the new government of Canada, Mr. Carney's government, that is very familiar from the old government, Mr. Trudeau.

However, there are important differences.

One, obviously, is the realm of Canada because a king, a king was present.

This is his realm.

And Charles III, entering Canada with his queen, Camilla, was sparkling on the video that I watched.

And then he read a speech to open parliament, which is a ceremony I was unfamiliar with.

The speech was written by the government.

It wasn't the king's speech, although there were remarks in French that were perfectly done

because this is a bilingual country, actually many languages,

but dominant bilingual with the French speakers. And the king left me with an impression of,

well, aren't they lucky to have one? We don't here in the United States. Conrad, a very good

evening to you. What is the general opinion now that

the king has come and gone with the queen? Was it a successful visit? Was Canada buoyed by it? Good

evening to you. Good evening to you, John. Yes, I would say it was a very successful visit.

He had been here, he said in his remarks, this was the 20th time he had visited Canada

but it was the first time since you know since he's been the king and so I think people

were glad to see him in that role he had as listeners would remember, some ups and downs as Prince

of Wales in the days with Diana and so on. I think people were glad to see him behaving as a

king does and with dignity and confidence and good humor. And I think in general people, you know, wish him well,

and they're glad to see him, you know, getting around and recovered from his illness and so on.

So I think it was, I mean, you know, the main issues were policy issues,
