this is the Marketplace Morning Report from the BBC World Service. I'm Stuart Clarkson. Good morning.

We'll start today, Mexico, where trade talks have taken place between the country's president

and the Prime Minister of Canada.

Claudia Scheimbeam and Mark Carney agreed to deepen ties

as both countries face new tariffs from their neighbour the US,

for example, 50% on Canadian steel and 25% on Mexican pharmaceuticals.
