0:10.8	I'm Tanya Wilmoth. So today is your one and only chance to hear from us on the
0:16.6	Book of Jude. It's really short, only 25 verses long I think, and so we've packed it all into one episode. I don't know if Anna Lynn will even give it a mention in the newsletter. We'll just have to wait and see. So here we go. I titled this episode, Hey Jude, so what about that friend that just completely walked away from their faith?
0:37.0	I've been around just long enough to be on the receiving end of several conversations that begin like this. I just don't know what to do.
0:46.4	My friend from camp who was totally on fire for Jesus just completely abandon the faith.
0:53.0	And I learned so much from her,
0:54.3	I'm so confused about what to believe right now.
0:58.4	Now you can go back and fill in the blank with camp,
1:00.5	ministry, church, youth group, maybe it's even an author you read or a teacher
1:05.1	you've enjoyed. When someone you know renounces their faith, it unravels you
1:10.1	emotionally and mentally. It has the potential to unravel you spiritually as well. you

1:16.0	things Jude was writing about in his very short letter. When Jude says,
1:21.3	but you must remember beloved beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our
1:25.4	Lord Jesus Christ who said to you, in the last time there will be scoffers following their
1:30.1	own ungodly passions. It is these who cause divisions, worldly people devoid of the spirit.
1:35.4	Well, there Jude is reminding us that the surprise factor, while it might be real, shouldn't shock us into fear or unbelief.
1:43.0	While it is a surprise to us, it is not a surprise to God.
1:47.0	And he even warned us about it so we could be prepared.
1:50.0	I like the way Jude calls them beloved.
1:52.0	He's writing in a pastoral way to people who have been learning from or alongside people whose faith hasn't proven genuine.
2:00.0	So let's dig in and see what we can learn from Jude about how to deal with our own emotions
