Sometimes what we imagine is far more terrifying than our actual reality,

like in this story inspired by Shay.

It was a dark and stormy night. I know that sounds cliche, but it was. I sat in my cozy

armchair with a cup of hot chocolate. The wind blew so fiercely outside, there was no way I could sleep

with the noise. I was thankful for my warmly lit house. I always kept lights on, even at night.

It might sound childish, but I'm still afraid of the dark. For most people, that fear

fades with age, but for me, it never did.
