The IMF report was released overnight

and there have been some gloomy forecasts for the UK.

It's looking like the UK is predicted to have the worst

economic forecast of any G7 country this year.

Kate, how where should we be?

The IMF's world economic outlook update is not particularly cheery.

It shows global growth taking a downturn this year.

And for the UK in particular, it's pretty grim.

It suggests that out of the major economies,

the UK will be the only one with an overall economic contraction

of 0.6%, the next country up the scale Germany is expected to grow at 0.1%.

Look, I take all forecasts with a pinch of salt as we should.

And it's really difficult to do economic forecasting.

It's useful, but it's difficult very often.

It's not going to be correct.
