You know, the question today is, can you afford it?

I'm not talking about money, not talking credit cards or your bank, balance.

I'm talking about the cost that doesn't show up on the receipts, the kind of price you only realize after you paid.

You know, like you ever walk into a store, you see something you like, a pair of jeans, maybe, a jacket.

You know, you try it on. You're feeling yourself a little bit.

But then you flip the tag.

You see the price and then you realize, ah, I can't afford that right now. So what do you do? You

know, you put it down. Not because, you know, it's not worthy. Not because you don't deserve it,

but because you know what you can handle in this moment. You're being honest with your reality.

That's wisdom. That's wisdom.

That's discipline.

That's self-respect.

So here's a question.

Can you afford it?

How often do we do this with our emotional choices?

When it comes to people, relationships, commitments, how often do we flip the tag and say,

can I really afford this right now? Because some things look good, right? Like some things look good,

feel good, sound good. But in reality, the price is heavy. And sometimes we don't notice until it's too late. We say yes to someone before checking in with our own capacity. Or, you know, sometimes we go and give our time, our energy,

our softness to people who aren't equipped to hold it. We agree to plans that train us, you know,

or we text back out of guilt. And some of us, you know, or we text back out of guilt.

And some of us, you know, we entertain situationships that are already showing the red flags,

but we tell ourselves, you know, it's not that bad. It feels good.
