My name's Michael Roundtree, and today we're going to be answering the question,

can true prophets miss, or maybe even a refined version of that for our purpose in this short

episode.

Does the New Testament provide any examples of godly people who miss a prophecy and aren't censored for it,

aren't disciplined for it in any way. And we're going to look at one of those examples today. And the

reason why this is such an important question, first of all, is theological cessationists,

those who believe certain gifts, what they call the sign gifts, have ceased. One of their claims is

that true prophets

never miss. If you miss a prophecy, that makes you a false prophet. But then there's also kind of

a practical fallout of this too. Even if you're somebody who makes space for it, yeah, theoretically,

prophecy could still happen today. If 100% accuracy is the standard, well, nobody's ever going to prophesy in your church

because nobody wants to be called a false prophet if they miss it. And so what happens is even if you

allow space for it in your theology, you actually don't, practically speaking, because 100%
