Hello, as we gear up for the local elections in England and devolved elections in Wales and Scotland.

This week, Politics Weekly has been on the road.

It looks like London could see the Greens and Reform sweeping across councils in the capital

as people switch away from Labour and the Conservatives.

In the first half of this episode, our producer Frankie is in Bromley,

where in 2022 the Conservatives retained control of the borough but lost 14 seats.

Since the election, two councillors have defected from the Tories to reform UK.

She spent the day with Councillor Alan Cook reform's first ever directly elected London councillor.

Well, Reform UK is known for being a little bit different and we do want to be different.

So this is one of the ways where we are different in campaigning.

We're out here on the side of the road on the A21, which is the most, the busiest road in Bromley pretty much.

We have the union flags, we have reform flags, we have reform banners and core exports.

We even have a carball cutout of Nigel Farage in case anyone wants to stop for a photo shoot.

I am Councillor Alan Cook.

Well, I am the only elected Reform UK Councillor in the whole of Greater London.

I won the Bromley Common and Holwood Ward last year, July 25.

And basically, this used to be a Tory heartland, and it was a very safe Tory seat but we we beat the

Tories there by 15.6% and they even sent Kemmy down to a provincial by-election to help fight it for
