about breaking with the Crown.

Will the monarchy now reckon with its colonial legacy?

Britain has now been in official mourning for eight days.

Shower has carpeted the grounds outside Buckingham Palace

and thousands of people are facing 20 hour queues

in the hope of seeing the Queen as she lies in state at Westminster Hall.

And this period of enforced grief extends far beyond Britain's shores.

The Queen was headed state of 14 other countries in the Commonwealth

when National Morning is also being observed.

To honour the passing of the Queen of New Zealand in round countries

we move until period of official mourning.

Flegs will be flown at half-masked.

But the sentiment in former British colonies is complicated.

The Queen was much loved and respected,

but her death has opened a space to talk about what her position symbolised.

Alongside the sadness, there's also pain, reflection and real anger.

This Commonwealth of Nations, that wealth belongs to England,

that wealth is something we never shared in.

So for us in Jamaica, the monarchy is a harsh reminder for unfortunate past.
