Summary

Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive line questions loom large as training camp approaches, with right tackle Jaylon Moore and the backup tackle situation fueling concerns among fans. Despite offseason expectations, Brett Veach and Andy Reid passed on drafting a tackle, placing faith in Moore and left tackle Josh Simmons—who enters a pivotal year after injury and personal absences in 2023. Do the Chiefs have enough depth, and will the current group keep Patrick Mahomes protected for another Super Bowl run? Chris Clark and Ryan Tracy break down the battle for swing tackle, the essential roles of key reserves like Esa Pola and Wanya Morris, and examine whether Andy Heck’s coaching can finally deliver consistent development. The hosts highlight the interior strength with Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith, discuss potential lineup shifts, and explore possible late roster additions or trades. Can Kansas City’s O-line withstand a grueling 20-game season, or is a shakeup inevitable if injuries strike?

And welcome back to their episode of Locked-on Chiefs. I'm Chris Clark from Chiefs Corner. He is Ryan Tracy from RGR Football, Roke APC, and NFL 33. And we're going to dive into the Chiefs offensive line. How much is enough? We're going to talk about how many of they could keep on this line this year. And the fact that they need to play to their strength is going to be what we're going to talk about a little bit later. But we're going to start with the big worry. And this is really, I mean, it is what it is. You're worried about the tackle position. I do think that you look at what happened in the NFL draft. You look at the offseason moves the chiefs made.

that they could be looking in an offensive tackle, even at nine.

Obviously, that's not what happens.

They didn't even draft an offensive tackle.

if you're starting right tackle because I can't see him being beat out.

1:23.7

But that's the big question headed into camp.

1:26.6

Yeah, I agree with you you like i'm just looking here

1:30.1

if you had to guess how many snaps to jalen more play last year

1:33.7

350 close 415 that includes extra points etc etc when you boil it down to games where he played meaningful snaps on offense,

1:46.8

it was that stretch from week six to week nine,

1:49.2

and the three games 13 to 15.

1:51.8

That's it.

1:53.2

Part of that was due to his injury.
