business colleagues giving you an insight into the NFL season

from a business point of view as we get going. In that mindset, here we go. NFL is often running.

Week one is in the books. Week two starts tonight, Thursday, September 12th as I record this.

And let's talk about some business issues.

You know what?

I said this last week.

I say it every year.

When the season begins, when that kickoff happens, typically on Sunday,

whether I was an agent, team executive, and now really involved in the business of the NFL from a media angle and an academic angle, I'd relax.

I'd let go. I'm the counterintuitive one. I'm busier off season than in season. I just remember with the Packers, when that opening kickoff, I would be like, ah, it was my slow time.

September, October, slow times of the year for front offices. They're on to 2025.

Scouting department's on to 2025. Cap is on to 2025. Front office. Yeah, there's some

churn during the season at the bottom of the roster. And maybe in December there'll be a contract extension or two, but it's a slow time.
